The Canola Watch 2024 annual exam for Certified Crop Advisors and Certified Crop Science Consultants (and anyone else who wants to enhance their agronomy skills) has five sections:
- Water & Nutrition: CCA – 0.5 credit in soil and water management, 0.5 credit in nutrient management; CCSC – 1.0 credit in crop management
- Diseases, Weeds and Insects: CCA – 0.5 credit in integrated pest management (IPM), 0.5 credit in sustainability; CCSC – 1.0 credit in IPM
- Canola Watch Fundamentals: CCA and CCSC – 0.5 credit in IPM, 0.5 credit in crop management
- Agronomy tips from new canola multi-media: CCA and CCSC – 1.0 credit in crop management
- Canola Digest Science 2024: CCA – 0.5 credit in IPM, 0.5 credit in nutrient management; CCSC – 0.5 credit in IPM, 0.5 credit in crop management
Customize the exam based on credits you need. Credits will apply in either 2024 or 2025, depending on when you pass each section. For those who pass, Canola Watch will submit names and program ID numbers to the program to have the credits counted.

Section 3 – Canola Watch Fundamentals
Canola Watch Fundamental articles provide essential best management practices for canola production in Western Canada. This section has 10 questions based on articles added or updated in 2024. People who take this exam will learn about herbicide carryover, fall weed control and soil sampling, and find new sources of knowledge to improve their services to farmers.
Achieve a minimum score of 70 per cent (7 out of 10) to receive 1 continuing education credit (CEU) for Certified Crop Advisers (CCA) or Certified Crop Science Consultants (CCSC). Specific credits for CCAs: 0.5 for Integrated pest management; 0.5 for crop management.
