Canola Council of Canada (CCC) President Patti Miller welcomes Bruce Jowett as the CCC’s new vice-president of Market Development.
“Bruce brings to the CCC significant experience and proven track record in the agriculture value chain, including primary research, product development, product management and marketing,” says Miller. “Bruce’s marketing expertise will contribute significantly to our efforts to reach our industry targets.”
Jowett comes to the CCC from Cargill AgHorizons, where he was business unit marketing manager. Prior to Cargill, Jowett worked in marketing for UGG and Cyanamid Canada in Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario. He has a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and is from Winnipeg.
“I look forward to helping increase the value of Canadian canola oil, meal and seed, and building canola demand and business relationships around the world,” Jowett says.
The CCC has a target of reaching 15 million tonnes of sustainable production and demand by 2015.
The CCC is a full value chain organization representing the entire canola industry, including growers, seed developers, crushers and exporters. Canola is Canada’s most valuable crop, generating $8.1 billion in farm gate receipts in 2012 and over $15.4 billion in overall economic activity each year.
